Scope of Symposium

With the basics of the growth and their fundamental physical properties rather well established, research is at present moving on to integrating new functionalities into nanowire and nanotube structures and devices through the design and fabrication of high-quality heterostructures where different (metal oxide/carbon) materials are combined. This symposium provides a forum for discussion and presentation of fundamental and applied aspects of low-dimensional metal oxide/carbon nanostructured materials, heterostructures and hybrid structures. Synthesis methods, devices design, nanofabrication and modelling will receive specific attention in our session. This symposium will also focus on the applications of these nanostructures in energy production, storage and on environmental issues. The proposed topics include, but will not be limited to:

•  New Synthesis and Fabrication Methods

•  Hybrid Structure Design and characterizations  

•  Low dimensional nano-carbon/metal oxide materials and their applications

•  Modeling and Theory for nanosystem.
