Scope of Symposium

The goal of the symposium is to bring scientists together to exploit and advance fruitful synergies of interfacial nanoscience and nanotechnology. The symposium will focus on the integration of advanced experimental and computational methods, utilized to assess structure-process-property relations and to monitor and address the fundamental aspects related to nanoscience and nanotechnology, which is one of the most dynamic and expanding fields in materials. The field is driven by a number of growing applications – nanofabrication, nanodevices, catalysis, biosensors and biochips, etc.
This symposium is highly interdisciplinary and crosses the boundaries of materials science, chemistry, biology and nanotechnology, and will address fundamental questions as well as applications.
Topics to be address include (but are not limited to):
• Bio-nanomateials and functional nanomaterials
• Surfaces and interfaces
• Advanced nanopatterning techniques
• Nano-optical phenomena
• Bottom-up processes
• Metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticles
• Self-assembly and self-organization
• Functional supramolecular materials
• Chemical and biochemical sensing
• Semiconductor and metal surface structure
• Catalysis using nanomaterials
The program is organized into invited presentations by internationally renowned researchers, complemented by contributed oral presentations and poster sessions by young scientists.
